A. L. Lee (she/her) is an award-winning NYC-based filmmaker. BA from Eastman School of Music and an MFA from Columbia University in screenwriting. Best Screenplay award for “The Legend of Pig-Eye”.

Her short film, “the good boy” screened in 70+ festivals and won multiple Best Film and Best Foreign Film awards. “Artemis & the Astronaut”, a film about Alzheimer’s, won multiple Best Film and Best Actor awards.
 
“Halmoni’s Pot” (Grandma’s Pot) premiered at the 2023 Palm Springs International ShortFest. It also screened at the Hamptons International Film Festival, the Asian American International Film Festival, the Cinequest Film Festival, and the San Diego International Film Festival. It won the Audience Award at the DisOrient Film Festival and the Vero Beach Film Festival.
 
Her feature comedy script, “Hot Pot” was accepted in 2024 to the Athena Film Festival Writers Lab and the FS2P Lab. It was a finalist in the 2023 Asian American International Film Festival screenplay competition and a semi-finalist in the 2024 Blue Cat Screenplay Competition.

"Lucky Gods": episodic pilot, Chinese folk and Taoist Gods must become humans to save their temple from a greedy real estate developer. Second round, Sundance Pilot Lab.

"Purgatory, A Love Story": short screenplay. A man insults the wrong witches in Central Park and gets turned into a toad who cannot lie. Finalist, 2019 Nantucket Film Festival.

Artemis & the Astronaut (15”) memory and Alzheimer’s. NYSCA production grant, funds IFP Fiscal Sponsor. Best Film, Best Actress and Audience awards.

Wrote and directed the good boy (15”), a young boxer and the moral dilemma he faces. 70+ festivals won multiple Best Film, Best Foreign Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay awards.
